In early 2019, we unveiled our Training Center at the Field Advisor Training Symposium. The 4,000+ square feet training space is located at our headquarters in Niles, Illinois. The Training Center was created for hosting standardized skills assessments for potential new team members and refining the technical skills of our Field Advisors and Production team. Scott Swarm, Owner says, “We're very excited for this stage in our organization's growth to be able to provide an environment where our team, whichever stage they are in their career, can refine their technical skills.” The Training Center is an integral component of ensuring high standards of service and providing the best-in-class roofing solutions for our clients.”
This includes:
Complete TPO details field, drains, curb, wall flashing, stacks
Mobile MB platforms for torching field, curbs and stack
Mock-up of interior drainage from drain ring, bowl to interior piping
Boards for learning fastener details and required tools
The Field Advisor Training Program
In order to provide our new teammates with the best possible technical foundation, we launched our new Field Advisor Training Program. Field Advisors are able to learn the fundamentals of commercial roofing in a hands on environment and see first hand veteran commercial roofers completing projects the “RoofingSource way”. The weeklong training is followed up by an “in the field” training with a Regional Trainer. Pictured are some of our Field Advisors during their training at HQ.
Pre-Employment & Teammate Skills Assessments
The Training Center is used to conduct standardized skills assessments for both candidates and current teammates. Pre-employment skill assessments allow potential candidates to display their knowledge about commercial roofing and their ability to properly make repairs, use equipment, etc. RoofingSource teammates also undergo skills assessments in a controlled environment to determine the area of focus for their continued training and opportunity to show their technical development which is tied to their skill-based compensation.
